The second Sunday in Mumbai is another working day. The Years 7, 8 and 9 had their Meet The Parents (here they call it MTP) from 9am. Many parents consulted yours truly on what the Singapore curriculum entails and life in SIS compared to a Singapore students' life. They know we are tops in Maths and wish to see their kids excel in Maths as well. SIS does not encourage teachers to set homework as the pupils must participate in the co-curricula activities till 4.30pm every day. No time is allocated for extra lessons or remediation. However, parents wish that the Maths teachers set homework for their kids as they know that in order to excel in Maths, lots of practice is needed, homework included. The management of SIS has to sought this out.
We were in school till 2.30pm before the last parent left. Lunch was taken in the school dining hall. On the way home, we stopped at the newly opened Mall just outside SIS.....there's a supermarket and a MacDonald's restaurant there, just great! The teachers and students in the school are fed vegetarian food (strictly no meat!) for all meals. I have got used to it after a week and I am doing very well adapting to life here in Mumbai.

Ya, rose-zee....what a blessing! Come to Mumbai and for two consecutive Sundays, I was in SIS meeting the parents....haha but it was a learning experience for me...the parents are top people and are very interested in the education of their children. They want the best. Many have worked and travelled to Singapore and other countries in their business.
